Raised footpath on bridge

PN Daly Ltd Innovative Design
Rasing the footpath of an old Bridge to install six 33kV cables.

Question: How do you install six 33kV cables across an old bridge? (Clue: It is not Directional Drilling)

Answer:
PN Daly’s suggestion was to raise the footpath area of the bridge by 400mm laying the cable circuits directly on top of the bridge deck. The proposal was to utilise Titan Kerbs laid at current road level and increase a parapet handrail so complying with regulations regarding the relative level of handrail to the footpath.

PN Daly Ltd provided an innovative solution, which saved 85% costs, tripled the speed of installation and had much less environmental impact than directional drilling methods.
